Gilbert
is located in the Phoenix metropolitan
area about 22 miles southeast of downtown
Phoenix and 12 miles from Phoenix Sky
Harbor International Airport.
It started
out as a ranching and farming town and
today agriculture still plays an important
part of the economy with cotton, grains,
alfalfa, vegetables, citrus and livestock.
Gilbert
is now one of the fastest growing cities
in Arizona and ninth fastest in the county.
